Florence Williams Scott, 97 FREEPORT - Florence "Flossie" Williams Scott, 97, planning on 200, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, after a brief illness.
She was born on April 4, 1911, in Amity, the daughter of Hannah and Roy Williams. She was especially proud of her large and exuberant family of 13 brothers and sisters. Florence was a 'sports girl' who avidly followed the Red Sox and Patriots.
She was employed by Eastland Shoe Company in Maine and New Hampshire during her working career. Florence was predeceased by her devoted husband, J. Arnold Scott in 1991.
She was also predeceased by her brothers, Don W., Lynwood G., Dean D. and Justin L. Williams, her sisters, Grace Rowe, Maxine Hanson, Mabel Marston, Doris Patrick, Leola Kostecki, Mildred Galgovitch, Frances Cushing (my mother's mother) and Martha Hamilton. She is survived by her sister Audrey Andersen of Highland, Md.; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Please join the family for a graveside memorial service on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at South Freeport Cemetery, Pine Street, South Freeport at 1 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at the Tobey home.
