I absolutely LOVE Christmas and the fall/winter holidays. I look forward to them all year. Not because of the gifts I receive, but because of the feelings of love and family togetherness that comes with it. I love the overwhelming sense of giving most everyone has. Even those not generally prone to charitable deeds usually get in the act during this time of year.
I've already started knitting, crocheting, and sewing for the ocassion. I also want to start "giving" to others so that gifting to friends and family this year....a year so fraught with economic woes....won't be so stressful.

I know exactly what you mean. Christmas is such a beautiful time of year, there's such an overwhelming sense of brotherhood and charity. I think as long as it doesn't become your main focus gift-giving is a really nice thing. Having a loved one give you a gift that you absolutely love and didn't ask for really warms my heart, it shows that person really knows and loves you, you know? I've already gotten the ball rolling on my shopping. I've gotten at least half of my sons list and I picked out a new sports watch for my husband from Sportsman's Guide's Black Friday Sale. He lost his old one on a camping trip over the summer. He was so upset and I'm really excited to get him a new one =)
