It Is Finished

Should Christians celebrate Passover?

Christians are no longer bound to observe the Passover feast the way the Old Testament Jews were. However, it is a good thing to study it (and even celebrate it) if it leads to a greater understanding and appreciation for Christ’s death and resurrection. He gave His life for His people and delivered us from the bondage of sin. That is something we should celebrate every day of our lives.

So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. John 19:30 (NKJV)

Fingerprint Friday
There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of god
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of god
And I know its true
Youre a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of god
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them? Here's how to join in.

Jesus told his disciples to go to the Jew first, then the Gentiles - I'm so glad He included that last part :) But I believe that He is the fulfillment of the Passover, and for that reason, I 100% agree that learning about & celebrating the Passover Feast is important for understanding who Jesus was & what He came to do.

Thanks for this post - it's a beautiful reminder :)

I love what the passover stands for. It's amazing to me that the blood of the lamb that saved the Israelites that night was symbolic of the lamb's blood that would save mine.

As a Christian, I love learning about the Passover. It's amazing to me how God used it in His plan to include the blood of Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice, in place of the lambs.

I have to tell you..Every thing we do in LOVE is wonderful..Does it matter if it is Passover/Easter?
If it does, then we have missed the meaning of Easter. Christ was born a Jew..I was born part Polish, part Irish and I love both parts..It is only people that make the split. Love is the secret..Happy Easter...

I grew up Jewish, then became Christian so I am very blessed to have both traditions within my family. Thank you for your lovely post.
